IN HANOI - THE Singapore community in Vietnam enjoyed a welcome surprise yesterday morning when President S R Nathan joined members for breakfast on the third day of his state visit here. The light-hearted gathering was a joyful interlude for both President Nathan, who mingled happily with his fellow citizens, and for the Singaporeans based here.
Said Mr Nathan: 'I am proud that you have chosen to be in Vietnam, a country that is well-disposed to Singapore and seeks to work closely with us for our mutual benefit.'The President said Vietnam has made remarkable progress considering how it has suffered from recent wars, and he noted that its people are hard-working and eager to learn from Singapore.
It was evident that the Singapore community appreciated his visit. Said Mr Patrick Choy, president of the Singapore Business Association in Vietnam: 'We're all flying the flag here as we do business and meet our Vietnamese counterparts, so it's great to have our President come and visit us.'
In a jovial vein, Mr Nathan referred to Singapore's triumph in winning the right to stage the 2010 Youth Olympics as well as the launch of the Singapore Flyer and the coming first-ever night F1 Grand Prix later this year. 'I know all this could make you homesick and want to go back,' said Mr Nathan, laughing. 'But I admire you for staying on to make a success of whatever you are doing here.'
One success story that Mr Nathan witnessed yesterday was the signing of new agreements by CapitaLand, one of the largest real estate companies in South-east Asia, to set up a US$300 million (S$420 million) property fund to invest in projects in Vietnam.
Concurrently, CapitaLand sealed a strategic alliance with a local construction and transport company, Nam Thang Long, to explore further business opportunities in Vietnam. CapitaLand president and CEO Liew Mun Leong said the company hopes to double its residential properties in Vietnam from 2,800 to about 6,000 in the next three years.
Later, Mr Nathan flew from Hanoi to the central port city of Danang which, in addition to its booming industrial and maritime operations, has become a new tourism hub that is serviced by four SilkAir flights a week.
The President met regional leaders at a banquet last evening, and today he will visit the ancient Champa ruins at nearby My Son.

Q3.
The few values I think that is important for Singaporeans to go overseas to work is to have good attitude, willingness, responsibility and also learn from one's mistakes.
I think that Singaporeans must have the willingness, because without the heart and the willingness, one won't be able enjoy his or her work to the fullest, and instead groan and complain about the workload that one have, and this will make one hate his/her job. Hating one's job would also mean that one will meet your clients with a bad mood, and the deal might just be over beacause the clients might be unsatisfied with one's attitude. Therefore this also links to having good attitude.
One should take responsibility for the things that he or she does, and bear the full consequences if anything happens, and after that, learn from the mistakes that one have made. Learning from mistakes will let one not repeat the mistakes again, and one would grow stronger in this competitive world.
With responsibility comes learning from mistakes. When one's boss sees that his or her employee, although they have made mistakes, and if the employee is willing to learn from his or her mistakes, the boss would still trust the employee to hand over the next project to him or her, knowing that the employee would not repeat the mistakes again.
In conclusion, one should possess the values of having good attitude, willingness, responsibility and being trustworth, as this can help one a lot in the strong, competitive world these days.

Q3.
I think Singaporeans must be open-minded, flexible, forward-looking, responsible, hardworking and innovative in order to be able to work overseas.
They must be open-minded and flexible to new things. This is much important as working overseas will expose one to a totally new environment, different from the one he has been facing all his life. If one works overseas without an open mind, he might not be able to accept the difference he sees and persist in doing it his own old way. This would much likely end up in a failure and rejection by the society he works in. One must remember that for every different problem there is a different solution.
Forward-looking is also a very important quality that one is expected to have when he works overseas. Forward-looking means one would plan for or anticipate possible future events. An example is looking forward to globalization. When one realizes the increase in level of competition that would be brought about by globalization, one will try to constantly upgrade himself and his skills so as not to lose out to competitors. This guarantees his survival in the working world, especially if he is working overseas where international competitions take place.
One must be responsible in order to be successful, whether he is working overseas or locally. No employer will take in irresponsible employees that will bring damage to the company and run away like a dog with its tail between its two hind legs.
If one is to work overseas, hardworking is a must-have value. It is never easy to make a life somewhere out of your hometown (personal experience :D) as it would be totally different from the environment one is brought up in. Apart from flexibility, hard work is needed so as to catch up with local competitors who have been in the country their whole lives.
Innovative is needed everywhere in this era of globalization. As information is spread widely in a very fast speed around the world, information of an invention made in Singapore would have reached America in minutes, if not seconds. The whole world could produce the same products with different qualities and prices, allowing for a high level of competition. In order to survive, one must either produce very high quality products, produce very cheap products, or be innovative and create something new. The latter provides the bigger chance of survival and allows for more development to take place.
Thus I conclude that all these values must be possessed by Singaporeans in order to be able to work overseas (and be successful, of course :)).
Dear Amanda and Vanessa
Good attempt in trying to identify the values that a singaporean must have. How do we go about developing them in Mayflower?

Q3.
There are, in fact, quite a number of Singaporeans who are able to work overseas. This great opportunity is not obtained easily for sure. Therefore, in my opinion, determination, perseverance and commitment are the three principles that are strongly required here in order for Singaporeans to succeed in the work they are doing overseas.
If Singaporeans are determined to work overseas, they must be hard-working and keen to do more for the society they live in. This is due to the tight competitions not only among other Singaporeans overseas but also among the locals. However, this does not mean that Singaporeans there have to outperform the locals which might spark conflicts, like disapproval towards foreigners for taking away locals' employment opportunities, for example. In doing so, Singaporeans can actually benefit the country and from the country.
Furthermore, Singaporeans are ought to have perseverance so that small failures along the way will not discourage them to keep moving forward. In the same case, small successes should not also distract their attempts in achieving their goals.
Being committed and thus willing to be responsible of what has been done is also important. By doing so, the possibilities that Singaporeans are respected and valued as an asset to the nation are great. This, in turn, could bring the ties of diplomacy between Singapore and the country even closer.
Despite having mentioned all those values above, the basic which is not of no importance, in my view, is also to love as well as to care for what they are doing, the environment they live in and the people they interact with. With implanting this perception in mind and applying it in their everyday lives, are Singaporeans able to carry out those values above in order for them to conquer the challenges faced in their work-life overseas.
How do we go about developing them in Mayflower?
That's a deep question to ask.
Open-mindedness and flexibility could probably be induced to students through out-of-book learning and more of thinking than memorising. I think it goes the same with innovativeness, which will come out when students are used to thinking. It may not be easy to make students think, as I find that most of the time I have to force myself into thinking, otherwise I won't be thinking. Thinking is tiring, but I think thinking would result in these valuable qualities in a person.
As for forward-looking, I find it somehow affected by culture, but again, this can also be obtained if one thinks in the right direction.
Responsibility. From what I feel, if students are given a responsibility that their peers do not have as a form of recognition of their ability, they will appreciate it and be responsible in doing his duty. An example could be student leaders. Of course, if we are to go about implementing these values in student, this would mean _each_ student would have to be assigned a task specific to his/her talent.
As for the ability to work hard, we should ask a question, "Why _don't_ people work hard?" From what I see, when people do not have strong enough motivation, they tend to procrastinate, while when they have the strong motivation inside them, humans can work miracles. Maybe if students could be reminded of their motivations every now and then, without making us stressed of course, we will be able to work harder.
I'm going abstract O.O
That was only my opinions and could be proved very inaccurate by some..

Singaporean are willing to work in Vietnam because they are well disposed and Vietnamese work in closely with singapore for mutual benefit although their pay is low over there.
Vietnamese are the kind of hard working people and even they didn't study much they are willing to learnt from anyone. Vietnam has gone through quite alot of hardship from the wars that happened.
They work closely with singapore because increase cooperation with other partners making friends from other country to build trust and friendship is a good thing because whenever we need help from the other country the country will help them.

Q2:
i think that Singaporeans who are willing to work in Vietnam maybe because Singapore has lesser of the jobs which they want, and people thus go to Vietnam in search of a better lifestyle that they want.Another reason could be that Vietnam, as compared with other countries like America, is a much closer place and the flight distance is much shorter.
Some of the jobs in Singapore has been outsourced to foreign workers, sometimes due to lack of willingness on Singaporean's part.Singaporeans may think that by working overseas, they would receive a much better and fulfilling working experience than those who work in Singapore.Sometimes, the salary may be much higher than that of a somewhat similar job in Singapore. The lower cost of living in Vietnam can allow them to save up more for the future. Although the standard of living may not be as good as that of Singapore, but the possibility is that the quality of life may increase, when they are not as stressed with the fast workpace in Singapore.
Another advantage of working in Vietnam would be that it is not as far away, as compared to the countries like America.Shorter flight hours would mean that the Singaporeans can go back to visit their relatives in Singapore when they want to, saving up precious time and money on transportation.
Therefore, there are many benefits for Singaporeans to work in Vietnam. It is a good thing that Singaporeans leave Singapore because of competitiveness that other people who are of equal standards set. Singaporeans, by doing so, are not only helping themselves, but also benefitting those people in other countries and helping their country develop.
Dear Mei Yan, good attempt good observation.

Q3. Singaporeans must have integrity, responsibility and positive attitude in order for them to work overseas.
Firstly, one must possess the value of integrity so that the boss is more willing to work with you as he trusts and believes that you are an honest and morally-upright person. Tasks can be assigned to this person easily without any hesitation from the boss.
Secondly, responsibility is important for everyone. In order to fulfill a task given by an employer, one must be responsible and finish it on time. This person must be responsible and accountable for his/her actions and face the music if he/she makes a mistake.
Thirdly, i feel that one needs to have a positive attitude to survive in this competitive world. Working in overseas may not be busy and one can encounter several sticky situations. Being positive can help tide over these problems.
In conclusion, the values listed above are critical for Singaporeans to work overseas.

Q2.
From my point of view, In this society, majority of the people has entered the world of globalisation. Examples are like accessing to the internet, interacting with people across the globe, it's like having the world under your nose. However, besides surfing the net and relied on the media for news around the globe, this is insufficient for human beings.
Thus the first reason why Singaporeans wanted to work in Vietnam is because they wanted to expand their exposure to the world, to experience a different working environment. To advance faster than their colleagues if they were given a chance to work overseas. We must be wondering , why Vietnam? People often have the thought that European countries and the USA are popular places that people would want to work. Due to the past trend, there are already many Asian people working in western countries. Thus , that is why i think that Vietnam would be a new experience to the people. Instead of always venturing to the western countries, Why not opt for a change? Besides, Vietnam's economic is improving, and it is advancing to being a developed country. It would be an enlightenment for Singaporeans to work in Vietnam, and a brand new experience for them to get a close contact with what's happening in Vietnam.
The second reason would be that since now Singapore is working closely with Vietnam, Thus when Singaporeans went to Vietnam, they would be contributing to the society of Singapore, thus can improve themselves and able to share their skills and experiences when they come back to the locals. This would benefit both the locals and Singaporeans who are working overseas. This shows the other countries the close mutual bonds between Singaporeans. Plus, Vietnam is not very far off from Singapore, and given by the close ties between the 2 countries, Singaporeans can also feel a sense of belonging in Vietnam.
In conclusion, actually, there are many other reasons of why Singaporeans wanted to work in Vietnam, these 2 reasons are just the general ones. It is a good thing that more Singaporeans are willing to broaden their perception of the economic, the world, Globalisation, by venturing out of Singapore to gain more experience. In this way, then the economic would be able to improve, more competition among people, then there would be troubles, but this is what keeps life going. Thats the way life is. :D

Q3.
In my opinion, the most basic values that a Singaporean should have when working overseas are:
1) The ability to continue to have the ''kiasu'' attitude in them.
2) The ability to think independently
3) Being enthusiastic in whatever they are doing
One of the most common answers we would get from a foreigner about Singaporeans is ''kiasu''.
To me, I believe that this attitude is exactly the driving force of Singapore's development. One very fine example of the 'kiasu'' attitude in Singapore is the encouragement of the government to workers to constantly upgrade themselves. This is to allow our workers to be one step ahead of others, as well as to have an edge over other workers in this ever competitive global environment. In my opinion this is also a key driving force of Singapore’s development.
In this globalised world, text-based knowledge is, to a certain extent, unimportant. The world is constantly changing. Failure to move together with the world would mean that one is inefficient and relaxed. Imagine this, a person who is constantly up to date with current affairs compared to a person who have no idea of what is happening around them. Who will the employer chose? Of course, he will choose the one who is up-to-date with current affairs.
Now, the very next question which would surface in our mind is ''why?''
In my opinion, this is mainly due to the fact that the person will be able to know what is happening, the impact to him as well as the impact to the company.
The development of Singapore, in my opinion, comes with the ''kiasu'' attitude of Singaporeans. People of the older generation who have undergone the trials and tribulations of the war during World War 2 are determined and motivated to fight for a life that they want. They worked very hard and they got back what they deserved-a developed country of their own.
However, one very worrying phenomena in Singapore is the trend that more Singaporeans are only willing to give birth to one child and give him/her the best. This decision is however, two-sided. On one hand, the child is able to lead a better life. However, on the other hand, the child would be to pampered. This would lead him to be live at ease with the spoon feed life and never want to be better. This would eventually lead to the downfall of Singapore.
On the other hand, people from china, India and Indonesia, having witnessed the perils of life in their country, are motivated and want to carve out a future for them.
In terms of intelligence, we Singaporeans are comparable to them. However, in terms of determination, we are far away from them. Hence, I think that Singaporeans are just lying to themselves if they think that, education in Singapore alone, without the ability to source for knowledge, is sufficient if they want to work overseas.
Secondly, I believe that the ability to think independently is vital for a Singaporean working overseas. One very good example would be the leaders of Singapore. Our leaders of Singapore have, at the moment of gaining independence, thought of various strategies which would allow Singapore to fight its way into the global economy. If our leaders had been wishy-washy and did not see the obstacles Singapore faced, I think that Singapore would only be an unknown nation now, waiting to be submerged by the waters as time passes. The ability of independent learning is crucial because in this ever-changing world, one have to be able to deal with obstacles and make decisions accurately.
However, as I have mentioned earlier, Singaporeans now are not willing to have more than one child. The excess care and love by the parent would, in my opinion, prevent the child from being able to think independently because the child is now too used to having all his problems solved by his/her parents. One very good example is this: 10 years ago, a baby would be neglected even if they cried their hearts out. But now, those babies get all they want the moment they cry. As they get older, they will get used to their ‘’problem-solver’’ and will be unable to think independently. This will prevent them from doing anything in the future. This includes working overseas because, in my opinion, one of the main reasons why Singaporeans are in high demand is because they are able to think independently and hence, able to make wise and accurate decisions at any obstacles they face. But a pity, that was what Singaporeans used to be, but now, it seems that the foreigners are able to think better than Singaporeans and make wise and accurate decisions at a speed which we Singaporeans can only be shocked. And this will inevitably bring down the image of Singapore’s ‘’so-called ‘’ talents.
In this globalized world, we have to face up to reality. Being able to think independently will also mean that one will be able to make their decision when their company is not doing well. He/she can choose to either quit and find a better job or to work doubly hard to prevent himself/herself from being sacked. Alternatively, he/she may also act dumb and pretend nothing is happening and that he/she will stay in the company forever. Although the first decision (quit and find a better job) may reflect on the humanity of the person, but sadly, this is just part of globalisation.
Thirdly one has to be enthusiastic (or to be able to take criticisms), be it in studies or work or to a certain extent, life. This is on very worrying phenomena that I observe is this: be it variety shows or talent performances, it seems that most are foreigners who participate enthusiastically whereas the majority of the audience are Singaporeans. This is a clear example that reflects on the mindset of Singaporeans towards new things. And i believe that those who laugh at them, thinking they are better, will lose out and die in this globalized world. In my opinion, those foreign performers, who are seen like a fool by Singaporeans, should be applauded for their braveness to try new things. These foreigners are not afraid of failing. Rather, they know that it is only through failing that they will be able to know their mistakes and from there, correct it. Singaporeans, on the other hand, are just contented with what they are doing and think that what’s happening is none of their business. Globalisation is all about improving and innovating. No one in the world can afford to stay still. Hence, I think that those foreigners who are able to take up something new and participate with enthusiasm will be able to survive the ever-changing world whereas Singaporeans will just remain so. Inevitably, no matter what talent Singaporeans have, if they do not show it to others and be criticised before improving on it, they never be able to win those foreigners who have that something little extra. In this globalized economy, it is not how many successes one has , it is the number of attempts and failures one have that determines the success of the person.
These are the three basic values i believe one should have when working overseas. I would also like to say that opportunities don't come alone. Opportunities often come when the two necessity is present-effort and intelligence. ''Kiasu'' is a trait of singaporeans. I hope that it will develop with Singapore and its citizens.

Singaporeans must be open-minded, flexible, patient and good at communicating with others in order to excel overseas.
Singaporeans must be open-minded so that we can accept people ideas, learn things from other and become a better team player. Being open-minded also makes us a more adaptable person. We also must be sociable to make more friends and become part of the society.
Being flexible involves adapting to what is going on around us, even if it is radically different than we are used to. When we arrive at a post with a written job description but when we start doing things we may discover that our job description is largely irrelevant. No one ever knows exactly what will be required of us in the workplace.
We must learn to be patient and go slowly. Focus on the process than the successes. When people say they will meet us at a certain time we can expect them to be late or not arrive at all. But having patience will allow you to form better relationship with people.
When we are communicating, we should communicate clearly in writing and in person. We must be good in communication so that we can sell our ideas and be persuasive in presenting a point of view to others. We must also possess good listening, presentation and interpersonal skills and we can use knowledge of our native language and culture as a strong asset.
As for working with others in teams, we should try to coordinate and communicate well with people at all levels of knowledge and competence and we should respect and work with people of other cultures and stay focused on meeting team objectives.
Thus I conclude that all these values must be embodied by Singaporeans in order to be able to excel overseas.

Q3.
I guess Mayflower’s very own Care values are very important values Singaporeans must possess in order to be able to work overseas.
CARE- Commitment, Attitude, Responsibility, Respect and Excellence.
Yes, we hear about them every week but how do we actually apply them in this particular question?
Firstly, to commit to your work also guarantees that you will put in your best efforts in doing whatever task given. To have commitment in your job also means that you must firstly have the right attitude. When you have the right attitude towards your job, you will easily find the joys of your work and thus you will not find it a chore to do the work given. Also, being responsible also ensures that you will be able to be more ‘successful’ in your job. Your fellow colleagues will find that you are trustworthy and your superior will be able to trust you with more important jobs instead of entrusting the jobs to irresponsible people.
Next, Respect the people you are working with. They might be of different race and religion but no matter what they are still the people you are going to work with. Show them respect and be sure that you will be returned with the respect you expect.
Lastly, excellence comes with all the above factors. When you are able to commit, acquire the right attitude, be a responsible worker, show respect to people, you will then be able to excel in your work. It takes more than wisdom to survive in the competitive world. It is a realistic world out there; you have undergrads jobless, people who have merely a PSLE cert driving big cars. And in overseas, you are still a foreigner to them, it would be hard for them to accept you but if you are able to show your true capability, be a person of values, it will not be too long for them to include you in their coffee talks!
Q2.
In this globalised world, people may think that development is taking place at a much faster rate than anyone could imagine. The number of people who are equipped with essential skills are growing in numbers and triggers competition across the globe. This is what happen now in Singapore.
Singapore, being a country which exists on a tiny piece of land, is now filled with people from various countries. These people are putting pressure on the Singaporeans and causes them to strive hard in order to keep up with the standard. This what we called 'brain drain'.The emigration of highly skilled people into Singapore bring about a highly competitive environment. Those who cannot cope may opt out to work in other country such as Vietnam. It is turning into a community where only the fittest would 'survive'.Singaporeans choose to work overseas where opportunities are abundant.Furthermore, in Vietnam there are lesser number of capable and educated people.Hence, it is viewed as a prospect to be working in Vietnam. They could also be paid higher for the same job offered in Singapore. In addition, there are more positions or posts that they can choose from compared to Singapore.
Another reason could be that Singaporeans want a change of environment. They may find Singapore a hustle and bustle city where time flies faster than they thought. It could be also the case that they find Singapore too small a country and there is no breathing space. They feel that they need to expose themselves to the world, gaining experience from a new environment. They also may find it easier to learn and advance faster if they stay in a foreign country.

As Vietnam is developing, its government might want Singaporeans to work for them to improve the economy because these people have helped Singapore to do so. The government might also offer a higher salary to retain existing Singaporeans to remain in Vietnam. This extra money is enough to tempt anyone as the cost of living is lower as compared to Singapore.
Also, Singaporeans are bilingual and they are social cohesive, it will not be a problem to work overseas. With their impressive technical, managerial and language abilities, Singaporeans can fetch more money working overseas than remaining at home. Attractive compensation, coupled with overseas working experience on the CV, as well as the excitement of work abroad make Singaporeans willing to relocate.

Q1.
Although Vietnam has achieved remarkable progress in both social and economic spheres, they still have many things to be improved. Examples would be their traffic and water.
My mother just went to Vietnam last August and she found it difficult to cross their roads. It is because in some places, especially the rural areas, there are very little traffic lights to control the flow of traffic. Crossing Vietnam’s road is as like crossing a river filled with crocodiles. The roads are basically filled with cars that never seem to stop. We Singaporeans are so used to having traffic lights and zebra crossings, so unlike those Vietnamese that have cross those road for the whole of their life, we hardly have the courage to cross the roads. However, quite often, accidents do happen to the 'experience' Vietnamese. In the year 2004, there are 11,502 fatality accidents and 15,423 injury accidents. (http://www.easts.info/on-line/proceedings_05/1923.pdf) There is also this saying by the locals, “You are more likely to die in a car accident in Vietnam than contract a avian flu.”
I feel that the Vietnam government should come up with measures to control the traffic like what Singapore did. For example, introduce the Area Licensing Scheme, ERP (Electronic Road Pricing) etc. The main aim is to encourage people to take public transport. This can reduce the number of vehicles on the road, number of car accidents and also air pollution.
As everyone knows, Singapore, a small red dot, has totally no natural resources, including water. But the fact that Singapore is the only country that people can just drink the water from the tap without getting ill. So this is also one of the things that Vietnam can learn from Singapore. Example, our technology. Singapore has the great technology that allows us to produce NEWater and desalinated water. Recently, there is also this ABC Waters Programme of the Kallang River.
"PUB has already identified 150 locations where projects can be implemented in phases over the next 10 to 15 years...
The Kallang River’s upstream stretches flow through Bishan Park, which is a popular recreation area for the large residential areas nearby, including Ang Mo Kio and Bishan. Native plant species will be re-introduced along the river, as an extension of the nearby nature reserves. New features like an integrated river playground and water play areas will be introduced to encourage more interaction with the water. The existing ponds in the Park can also be converted into wetland ponds that help to improve the quality of storm-water entering the Kallang River..."
With this programme, not only can Singaporeans experience more fun water activities on the rivers and the 14 reservoirs, we Singaporeans can also get absolutely clean and drinkable water out of it. Isn't all these wonderful?
Of cause, there are still many things Vietnam can learn from Singapore. But let's not forget about us learning things from them. We must not be satisfied with what we have now, in fact, Vietnam is catching up soon. "Fierce competition is a good motivation". Therefore, Singaporeans should "upgrade" themselves and let Singapore develope further.

I think singaporeans are willing to work in vietnam because there are more job opportunities, and maybe because they want to have a different way of living.
Jobs opportunaties are limited in singapores as there are alot of forigen talent taking up the jobs and thus ,making it very difficult for singaporeans to get a job.since jobs opportunaties in singapore are very limited, people will go to places like vietnam to start a business.labour cost in vietnam are very cheap therefore people are able to start a business easily. And also beacuse it is a developing country, more jobs are availble for people to choose.
Another reason is because some singaporeans are tired of singapore's life style and wants to try a whole new different life style overseas example vienam. the life style in vietnam compared to singapore is much more simpler.even though the country is much more poorer than singapore, the people are still very hardwrking and determine to create a better life style for themselves.Maybe some singaporeans need this kind of motivation in their lives to help keep them going.
In conclusion i think there are a lot more reasons why singaporeans would like to work in vietnam but these are more of the basic reasons singaporeans have.

Q2.
I think the reasons why singaporeans would like to go to vietnam to work are because of the lack of job opportunaties and maybe because they ants to have a different way of living
the reasons of the lack of job opportunaties are because singapore takes in alot of foriegen talent and thus living very little job opportuanties of singaporeans.therefore some singaporeans woulg go tp places like vietnam as they are countries which are developing to search for jobs or to start a business, as labour cost in vietnam are very cheap.
Another reason why singapore would like to work in vietnam maybe because they want a change in life style as living in vietnam is much more simpler than living in singapore.haing a new life style in vietnam is also gd as it allows one to gain new expriences.
In conclusion, i thibk there are alot more reasons to why singaporean would like to go to vietnam to work. this allows them to gain alot of expriences which might be beneficial to singapore in the future.
